Coasters and Doily project

After enjoying the day at the pool and cleaning (not a fun thing to do) I had the urge to do a little crochet. I have another project that I will post soon that I also worked on today, but I want you to see the finished project and right now it still needs the perfect button! So for now I will show you all the other two cute things I made today! :)

First project to show u is my cute doily. As you can see its small my hands are actually pretty small if that tells u anything.

I am really happy with how it turned out! What do u guys think?

And last but not least is my coasters. I actually did two sizes because I couldnt make up my mind about which size I liked better when I was trying to make them. So what could be better than two?!

What do you guys think about my newest creations? Feel free to comment or ask any questions. If you see anything you would like to purchase just email me or leave a comment for prices and let me know what item(s) you would like. I have other items I make as well, so if u know something else u want just ask me. I'm trying to get as many items up as I possibly can so you guys can see all the pretty things I make, but of course in between making things and trying to make my blog look as nice as I want it to I have the kids who also take up quite a bit of my time and energy. Please bare with me while I work on getting everything up here. Sewuniquebytink@gmail.com

Crochet for charities...

First let me start off by saying that there are so many charities out there who need crocheters to donate their work to them. I will add a few links to the ones I personally like at the end. Of course you can do a little research and find one or more that suits your interest as well :)

Why Choose to crochet for charity?
My reason is pretty simple. Both of my daughters were born premature and had to spend months in the PICU. During that.difficult time period I remember how nice it was that my beautiful babies wore those itty bitty beanies on their heads, and they were covered up with gorgeous blankets that people from all over had donated! Its such an amazing gift to give to people in that difficult time period when they might be financially and/or emotionally overwhelmed. I know I certainly was overwhelmed with it all (especially the first time around) The fact that people are willing and eager to make these precious items for babies/children/adults whom they never will meet is what makes it so wonderful! So let me give you a few charities I have found interest in.

1. Stitches from the heart
This non-profit organization sends blankets, booties, hats, and more to preemies all over the country. They also have a membership where you can donate money to help with the sending to the different hospitals all over. They even let you print out have to attach to your items so the new found owners can see exactly where the items came from! How neat is that?! For more info just visit their site

2. project Linus
They accept blankets of all different sizes to deliver to kids of all ages who are ill or in need of a blanket. You can become a volunteer or make a donation several different ways.

3. soldiers angels
This non-profit organization has many ways you can help out. You can adopt a soldier, donate items, and so much more. They want to make sure that soldiers in the army, marines, and navy along with their families are getting support that they need. Wounded veterans receive blankets, etc. You can send care packages to them and so much more. Visit them and find out how you can make a difference.

4. online angels
This Charity donates all over the us for many different causes. They donate lap-ghans to disabled people, blankets for babies, They even have 4 annual drives where they help children with school supplies, etc for school. They help children at Christmas time and much much more!! If you want a charity that has many options to choose from this is definitely a great place to look!

These are just a few that I have came across that peaked my interest but there are so so many charities who need help to provide these wonderful gifts all over! Do you know of any great charities out there who you want to recognize? Or are you a part of a certain organization and want to get your name out there? I would love to hear your feedback on this topic. I believe we can all make a difference no matter how small you think it is. It only takes one person at a time to make a big difference! :) Happy crocheting everybody!!
